It's High Time Of These Societal Norms
“Boys don’t cry!”, “Sit properly, you are a girl!” are just some of the many things you and I have grown up listening to. Why is it that being a boy you can’t express your feelings just as another human being or why is it that a girl can’t sit with her legs crossed. Why has the society burdened every gender with some qualifications and categories? Why can’t we just simply live together as human beings rather than being enslaved to the societal norms of gender bias.
A person should be known for his qualities within and not for his gender or caste. The origin of a person must never be questioned or looked down upon. It is the quality of the person’s heart that determines his respect and dignity in the society and not his gender, caste or religion. We have to learn to accept others for what they are and not what you want them to be.
Nonetheless… From being accustomed to the male dominant society to adapting Feminism…we have started evolving as a society. But its high time we accept and support each and every human being as an individual, free, person.
